Project Beyond Blue and Greens in Collaboration with SDG Council
Project Beyond Blue and Greens: The aim of the collaboration with Change in Range and Green Society of JMC, was to work towards waste management, specifically in the University of Delhi. Data on waste management mechanisms and related infrastructures of various colleges across the University of Delhi was collected in the form of reports to be submitted along with relevant pictures of on ground surveys. Efficient waste management is also the most neglected aspect when it comes to practice in the usual lives of college students. The Project curated video content in Hindi, with subtitles in English, to campaign for the issue and raise awareness regarding the same. The volunteers involved, indulged in understanding the hazard that mismanagement of waste poses while evaluating the awareness levels regarding the same amongst themselves and fellow college students.
Zero Waste DU Conference With Societies

With the privilege of education comes the burden of action, without one the other is in vain. Change in Range organized a meeting with the purpose of putting forward the idea of Zero Waste DU and the motive behind it to different clubs and societies of Delhi University. Keeping in mind the waste management scenario in and around the campus we presented the Zero Waste DU model to the presidents and stakeholders of various eco clubs and the societies of Delhi University.

The objective of the meeting was also to have a discussion on the issue of waste and to understand how various societies have been tackling or working towards the same in their own institutions and to share with them our goals and comprehensible solutions for the waste management issues.

The idea received overwhelming responses and hence was given the shape of a project with the help of our collaborators:
NSS DEEN DAYAL UPADHYAY COLLEGE, NSS MAHARAJA SURAJMAL INSTITUTE, PRITHVI ENVIRONMENT CLUB SRI AUROBINDO COLLEGE, NSS SHYAMA PRASAD MUKHERJEE COLLEGE, NSS MIRANDA HOUSE, MH VATAVARAN, ECOSPERITY- THE ENVIRONMENT SOCIETY SRI GURU GOBIND SINGH COLLEGE OF COMMERCE, SRISHTI - ENVIRONMENT CLUB ZAKIR HUSSAIN DELHI COLLEGE
Waste Segregation From Home Campaign
Waste Segregation from Home campaign was started my Change in Range in the middle of July to campaign for inculcating waste segregation habits among college students in the lock down period. Collaboration with 8 different clubs and societies of colleges across Delhi to spread the message of the same was successfully established.

During the unprecedented times marked with panic created by Covid19 Pandemic, we were compelled to put hold on our waste segregation campaigns in Miranda House College and MH hostel. However, we tried to convert this misfortune into an opportunity by trying to curate a campaign in which people could take part, sitting at their homes. It had become imperative for us to plan our events, activities and actions on pressing issues online and disseminate knowledge and information through the virtual medium for the much necessary development of conservationist ethics amongst students.

Change in Range started the campaign ‘Waste Segregation from Home’ on 17th June 2020 and requested people to participate in the campaign by putting separate dustbins for kitchen waste and a different one for other kinds of waste and to make use of their organic waste by attempting to compost. It also appealed people to make at least one sustainable change in their lifestyle in the lockdown period. Participants were encouraged to share their stories of change through pictures, videos, graphics and writing which were featured on our Instagram handle.

In order to extend the purview of the drive and to connect with other colleges and societies with the noble intention of working together on the mission of Zero Contribution to the landfills from the students, change in range collaborated with eco clubs and NSS units of different colleges across Delhi university. The campaign was successfully picked up by the collaborating eco-clubs and NSS units and saw enthusiastic participation where college as well as school students demonstrated their organic kitchen gardens and upcycling skills.
Feedback about the campaign from our partners!

Workshops on Waste Segregation At Miranda House
Change in Range in collaboration with NSS Miranda House and MH Vatavaran, the environment society of Miranda House, organized two workshops on waste segregation in Miranda House in March 2020. The first workshop was organized in the Miranda House Hostel with the aim of reaching out to the hostlers on the issue of management of residential waste while the second workshop took place in the college campus where segregation of institutional waste was discussed. Both the workshops were customized to provide all the attendees an understanding of the waste issue and general knowledge on the basics of segregation

The workshop in MH Hostel had the pleasure of the presence of staff from Scrapped, a waste management startup, who joined us to assist in educating students on methods of segregating waste meticulously so that environmental degradation and pollution can be prevented. They talked about different categories of waste and helped in developing an understanding of the systematic segregation and management of waste. Students from hostel including the hostel President attended the workshop. The workshop was held during the evening tea hours of the hostlers and was an interactive engagement which concluded with some excellent solutions to students for managing their waste and making a conscious choice of letting minimum amount of waste end up in landfills. The staff of scrapped was also provided with a memento on behalf of the collaborating student bodies.

The workshop in college saw an even more enthusiastic participation and was well engaged with detailed solution-oriented discussion on the issue of waste. Although, the scrapped staff couldn't join us this time, the workshop was completely taken over by interactive and well researched presentation on the executed by Change in Range volunteers. The workshop, at first, focused on broad issue of waste management crisis in Delhi and then drew the attention of the audience towards the local problems around. It was in this workshop, that for the first time the term Zero Waste MH got coined. The workshop was attended by a diverse audience from different societies and courses and also had the presence of President of MH Vatatvaran, the environment society of Miranda House.
